Write a review? You want to take, not help. I like the fridge. But auto fill of the pitcher puts water airside the pitcher, and leaves water on the bottom of the compartment, and under the pitcher. Would be nice if GE provided links for technical support.

This is my 2nd day with the new fridge. I am trying to get to know the functions and features of the new fridge. The fridge arrived in good shape. The delivery guys hooked it up. It started working. I started checking different features. To my surprise the chiller temperature control is not responding. This is a flaw. I called the GE customer care , they are sending a technician to check it. Temperature in both the compartments refrigerator and freezer holding stable. So far okay.

The first year we owned the fridge, there were no issues. Afterwards it has been very disappointing. This Thanksgiving 2026, marks year 2. At the moment we are replacing the filter on a monthly basis- the filters are $90.00 each. We would have considered drinking unfiltered water but when the filters fails, the ice machine also stops working. The first sign is smaller ice cubes, then no ice cubes, followed by slowed down refilling of the auto fill water pitcher. Right now the freezer temperature is at -5, but everything in the freezer is melting. This started a day ago. There was nothing left open, or anything blocking the seals. As I said at first, the first year was great. It is a spacious fridge, we loved the auto fill water pitcher but spending $90 a month on a filter is ridiculous. And yes monthly because we have started jotting down the days we have replaced it. Lately, the water refill has been very loud as well. I would honestly not recommend this fridge. A repair guy did come by and told us that it really depends- that "the filter should last 6 months but in rare cases it may need to be changed more frequently".

Like this Profile Refrigerator. However I had to fix the center shelf support which was bowed by the out into the main compartment. This prevented the shelves from being installed level. Removed the center support to find the support bent from the factory in order for it to fit into place due to the support being too long. After fixing the bow I had remove 1/4™ from the support length in for it to fit into its mounting location.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. The drawer that holds the ice falls off the track often. Three times in one week. They come look at it, put it back on the track, and say everything is fine. It's NOT! Do not buy. I've had 2 total knee replacements so it's more than uncomfortable to get down on the floor to put the drawer back. I'm a very young 77 female.

We received this refrigerator 2 weeks ago. Upon installation we detected that the top drawer of the freezer wasn™™t working properly. Apparently the wheels were broken. And we were told by the tech to only open using the middle of the handle because that was all it took to make it off track. Thank goodness I don™™t have little ones in my life. The drawer is very heavy and takes some effort to pull it open. Coming from a side by side this is going to take some getting used to . It took days for us to get a full tray of ice and each time it dropped it sounded like a machine gun rat-a-tatting. We immediately called for service and they said we needed a new ice machine. Funny how our sales person said you better buy the warranty because the ice machine won™™t last. I digress- we waited for our new ice maker, but we weren™™t told not to use the ice currently being made, but no worries we discovered it ourselves when we discovered plastic pieces in our drinks. When the service dept. came back out with the new part they said that, yes it™™s because it™™s cheap plastic. He replaced it and worked on the freezer door, but wasn™™t provided a stabilizing bar, so now we are waiting for this. The whole shelf looks wonky now, but he feels the stabilizing bar and wheels will fix this. All I know is that second shelf is absolutely thin and fragile so I have no confidence. The rest of the fridge works ok, you have to open the door to get water. The doors are heavy and are not easy close. I can™™t count how many times I hear warnings from the fridge that the doors aren™™t closed. Forget the idea of smudge proof . Man I miss my 30 year old side by side , even with a broken water dispenser. I™™m very disappointed in today™™s products.

I™™ve had the fridge for three weeks. I was concerned about the water dispenser and the middle drawer. These items are what I love about this fridge. My previous fridge had an interior water dispenser too, but you had to open the door wide to access it. The pitcher is great to grab and then fill water glasses at the dining table. Once it is returned to the door, it refills immediately. The dispenser also fills up one glass quickly and easily. We have used it everyday. The water is cold, but not so cold my teeth hurt (like my last fridge) The middle drawer is easier to access than an interior wide drawer. It is deep enough to have the mini soda cans stand upright. It is easy to keep organized with the removeable bin too. I am so glad we chose this fridge !

The refrigerator was installed this morning. It cooled off quickly. I had ice by mid afternoon. The door bins are huge. The shelf adjustments were great. I like how many levels you can have them at. The led lights make it easy to view. I like the cold water dual pitcher on the door. The refrigerator space and freezer space is really big. It came packed so nice, no scrapes or dents.

I guess 3 is a charm, this one is good, except the freezer draw handle keeps getting loose, and we have to keep tightening it. Other than that, I really like it. This a replacement refrigerator. The old one was replaced due to a warped frame on the freezer. The new one is leaking water into the freezer already. The unit has not been in use for a month yet and we are having problems similar to the old one already. I wish we had never bought a GE unit to start with now that I know how terrible the quality is.

This is the 3rd day we use the refrigerator. So far, its running good. I love that it is spacious. My regret is not having the door-on-door opening feature. It probably helps reduce the energy consumption by opening one door only instead of the whole door. Some features that need improvement- i wish GE put a seal on its vegetables/fruits drawers to keep the door tightly shut. That would help keep the fruits/veggies fresh longer. As it is, there is a gap on the door, letting the air in. Cooling speed is as expected. Took one day to make ice. I still could not find a turn off button for ice maker. I heard, you find it on the app. I have not experience frost accumulation yet, as i only have this for 3 days. I am still checking on temperature consistency by using a thermometer inside. For fingerprint resistance, i need more time to observe.

Replaced my Samsung that had filter water and ice no issues just decided to update. Went with this GE profile model with filter water pitcher. Purchased March 13! Have had to replace four filters so far because the water pitcher will stop filling up. GE solution let us send you a bypass plug. Ok so now my water isn™™t filtered that is the whole point. Then they said maybe it™™s your water softener. I had it tested nope water isn™™t filtered fine. And it™™s same water softer I had with my other fridge and was only replacing the filters ever 3 months. You filters say every 6. However I could see with the salt being filtered needing more often however four filters in a four months span being an issue with your product. Wish I would have stuck with Samsung.

Keeps food cold but needs some improvements

It does its main jobs of keeping food cold and making ice as expected. As many others have experienced, the water dispenser constantly leaks small but annoying amounts of water into the interior of the fridge. GE is sending a (currently back ordered) replacement pitcher which we™™re hoping will solve the problem, but water sometimes also accumulates under the pitcher, which seems like a different design problem. The stainless finish shows smudges easily and the sides, which are painted black, scratch extremely easily. The height of the door compartments is not adjustable and the space in largest one is just a little too short for a half gallon container of milk or juice. None of these are deal breakers, but a little attention to practical details would take it to the next level.

I have had this refrigerator 7 months. PGE29BYTDFS is the model #. Initially, the blower that cools the refrigerator went out. I was without a refrigerator for 6 weeks while GE found someone to repair it. The scheduling contractor GE uses was HORRIBLE. Now, I have changed the water filter (which has an RFID chip) and continuously get the ERR message. I have re-seated the filter. Unplugged the refrigerator for 5 minutes, all suggested fixes. NOTHING WORKS. This is a horrible appliance. I wish GE would take it back and bring me a new refrigerator. Preferable on with NO RFID chip.

The refrigerator had a plugged water line supplied by the mfr. Unknown to the installer who believed we had no water access. I engaged a local plumber to remedy the no water claim. He replaced the GE water line with his plastic 1/4™ waterline at a cost of $225. I™™m not happy about buying a new product that has faulty accessories.

Lack of appropriate documentation. No included owners manual for a $3000.00 refrigerator; are you guys kidding? Furthermore, when I finally found the on-line owners manual there was NO information in it about the appliance's "DEMO MODE". Had to have a TEC respond because the refrigerator was a boat anchor (Non-Functional) and the manufacturer didn't think it was important to include this information ANYWHERE in the owner's documentation. Once again, ARE YOU GUYS KIDDING? Having serious doubts about buying any more GE appliances.

Water dispenser

The pitcher is supposed to stop filling w/water when al.ost full. However on 3 different occasions it overflowed and the result was water damage to the wood trim encasing the frig. We've had it for 3 weeks. We were aware of the overflow because of a beeping noise which sounded, much like if the door was left open(which it wasnt).

We™™ve only had this fridge for three weeks. We love the picture inside the door. That is the main reason we bought this model. No mess on the outside! The doors are a little bit harder to close and the left-hand door gets stuck a couple times, but overall it seems like a good fridge. Time will really tell. We™™ll see how well it™™s running in three or four years.

Had my reservations, and only 24 hrs old, but I but love this refrigerator! Five stars all around. Looks like the finish will hold up well, and beautifully lit and very roomy inside. Fingers crossed - all mechanics AOK and hope they stay that way. Huge capacity compared to my similar size old LG. I will never buy LG again or an outside door water/ ice dispenser. Double trouble there. Extends further beyond the kitchen cabinets, but I do not even care - it's perfect. Hoping the water pitcher never leaks, and I will be a 10 year plus happy camper owner!

First one DEAD on arrival 6/17/2026

First one did not work because the of no communication with main board according to the NC error code so had to wait over a week to get another one. Had to use an old frig downstairs in the garage for over a week with company at our house. I really hope that was not a bad sign for my new frig. Guess we will see. You should really a better-quality check before they are sent out. I almost sent our new GE dishwasher, range and microwave back to get a different brand. The only thing that was offered to me was "sorry".

Product is horrible filled in less than two months woke up to over $1000 in groceries thawed, melted and at room temperature. The only option I was given was to have someone come service it but a $2500 refrigerator shouldn™™t need a repair in less than two months. I should be compensated for my groceries as well as the brand new fridge replacement.

If I could leave a zero out of five I would. I have a GE profile refrigerator. My first one got dents in the side door and I had to pay $400 to replace the door. This was not from trauma. Within 6 months it happened again. They are small dimples on the side of the door because the stainless steel is too thin and the core foam is not adequate. You can find this on many complaints about this refrigerator. I have tried now to reach out to GE and so has Ferguson out of Greenville multiple times and they are calling it cosmetic. I live in a very nice home and I am actually very embarrassed that I have dents on the side of my refrigerator. This is NOT I repeat NOT cosmetic this is a defective Appliance and Company that does not stand by their products and won't do anything to help me. They call it cosmetic and are a horrible with customer service. They won't help me but hopefully I can help other buyers. STAY AWAY FROM GE PROFILE Let me know if you need images for proof! I ADDED A PHOTO. GE should be replacing my door at least. I HEARD BACK FROM GE. THEY CALLED THE DENTS IN MY REFRIGERATOR COSMETIC AND WILL NOT FIX OR REPLACE MY REFRIGERATOR DOOR.
